Glaciers

Glaciers
Glaciers is a project born from Alex Wides’ long expeditions across the Alps, where altitude, cold, and isolation test both endurance and precision.
Each panorama was created after climbing for hours under heavy gear, often in the dark, to reach the edge of massive ice rivers that have shaped the continent for millennia.
Through his lens, these frozen landscapes become alive, breathing, cracking, and reflecting light in ways that seem almost extraterrestrial. Wides treats each glacier as a living organism in motion, recording the silent transformation of one of Earth’s oldest forces.
This collection stands as both a visual study and a personal testimony of persistence and respect for the mountain environment. Selected works are available as museum-quality fine art prints, produced in strictly limited editions.
Shot across different continents, these images were created in unstable conditions: rain, wind, and sudden light shifts that often turned a calm scene into something unpredictable.
Alex uses these moments to express tension and beauty at the same time, revealing how nature mirrors human emotion.
Every frame holds the trace of a unique encounter between chaos and harmony. Selected works from this collection are available as hand-signed fine art prints in limited series.
