DESCRIPTION

This 270° panorama was captured by Alex on May 27, 2025, in Asturias, northern Spain. The image was taken with a Sony A7IV and a fisheye lens at 1/15s, ISO 100, f/13. Known as “Puerta del Infierno”, this location is one of the most striking Alex has ever photographed. Guided by local Spanish photographers who know every secret corner of this coast, he reached the spot after a demanding descent down an almost vertical slope, a true test for anyone who loves hiking and wild terrain. Once at sea level, the challenge shifted to timing the tides. The spot is nearly impossible to access during high tide, so every detail must be carefully planned. On this day, the tide was receding, allowing Alex to cross the upper sections with waders, just at the limit. Then the moment came. A golden light entered the arch and flooded the beach, creating an atmosphere so powerful it inspired the photograph’s title. He immediately recognized that this would become one of the most intense and luminous images of his career. Asturias is pure magic. It offers both accessible and extreme locations, where planning and a bit of luck turn every shoot into an unforgettable experience — and sometimes, into one of those rare moments of photographic perfection.
